Things you should know about a Albino Colombian Boa
The Colombian Boa (Boa constrictor imperator) is a non-venomous boa constrictor subspecies found in Northern Central America. They are very tame and docile animals and make wonderful pets.
Size
Colombian Boas have been reported to reach lengths of 12ft long, but most average between 6-8 ft depending on the locality and also the sex of the animal. Females are known to grow bigger than males.
Feeding / Diet
Colombian Boas can be fed on an appropriately sized mouse or rat once every week. The food offered should be roughly the thickness of the snake at the centre of its length.
Caging Requirements
Provide a substrate of aspen or wood mulch at least 2″ deep. A small, heavy bowl of fresh water and shelter, such as a hollow log or concave rock or plastic “cave” are the three essential pieces of cage furniture. Climbing branches may be appreciated, especially with smaller boas. Mist if shedding problems occur.
Temperature & Humidity
88F is the ideal temperature for a boa constrictor. The humidity percentage should always be kept between 60-80%.
